VOLUNTARY PRODUCT RECALL

Contact lens multipurpose solution – Hy-Care® and other brand variants of this product (follow instructions to check if your brand variant of this product is affected)

Contact lens manufacturer, CooperVision, is conducting a voluntary recall of its Hy-Care® multipurpose contact lens solution (and other brand variants of this product) in the following bottle sizes; 60ml, 100ml, 250ml, 360ml and 380ml bottles.

The company’s quality testing determined that the product may not offer appropriate levels of disinfection in some circumstances against high levels of a particular yeast organism. Although no complaints have been received and there have been no confirmed incidents attributed to inadequate disinfection, this action is out of an abundance of caution.

This website will provide you with information on what to do next and how to be reimbursed for your product.

It is important that you continue to clean and disinfect your soft contact lenses. Please cease use and discard your Hy-Care® multipurpose solution (or other brand variant of this product) once you have secured an alternative multipurpose solution. Please retain the bottle in order to obtain your reimbursement through this recall website.

Consumers who may have these affected products in their possession should take the following steps:

  1. Insert your product lot number below to verify if your product is affected – you’ll find this on the reverse and at the bottom of the bottle (see image).

  2. If the product is affected, stop using the product once you have secured an alternative multipurpose solution.

  3. Click on ‘Next Step’ to register your product.

  4. After following all instructions, discard the affected product once you have secured an alternative multipurpose solution.
